Association Manegdbzanga has been doing more activities. Our most
recent event was setting up a boutique at the market event where we got to sell a divers range of products made from Neem oil. The
association’s boutique was created in May 2017 and started by making
insecticide from Neem oil. The boutique is run by a group of five women. These
women have received training on how to make products from Neem oil. Until now,
the products were not well known by the greater public even after the previous
cohort redesigned the boutique. This time our mission as volunteers was to
increase the visibility, attractiveness, sales, find new clients and retrain
previous clients.

autre raison de faire le marketing. Ils peuvent être considéré comme des
produits miracles On distingue notamment divers produits:
Ø L’huile
de Neem qui lutte contre : le diabète, les ulcères gastriques,
les parasites intestinaux et les maux d’oreille ;
Ø La
pommade de Neem qui traite les
douleurs musculaire, la fièvre,
les démangeaisons, les dartres, l’acné, les
boutons, les piqures moustiques ;
Ø Le savon
de Neem qui débarrasse les
impuretés de la peau : les boutons,
les démangeaisons, les dartres, la fatigue générale et les rides.
All of the products of the association’s boutique are designed to have a
therapeutic effect. Here are a list of the diverse products:

Neem oil which can be used against: diabetes, gastric
ulcers, intestinal parasites and ear aches.
·
Neem paste can be used to treat muscular, fever,
itchiness, acne, spots and mosquito bites.
·
Neem soap clears out skin impurities: spots,
itchiness, rashes, general tiredness and wrinkles.

We performed an awareness raising session concerning sexual health in
the market place. During this market event we decided to make the most of the
opportunity to promote the products of the AML boutique. The promotion took
place firstly by doing marketing of our products and secondly by selling them.
The marketing took the form of researching a better way to sell the products as
well as the improving the visibility of the products. As we realised that the
appearance of the products could be a deterrent from more sales. In this regard
several of the in-country volunteers were involved in the improvement of the products
stickers to make them more attractive. As we knew this would not be enough to
draw in the public we also promoted the health benefits of the products. Though
reluctant at first, customers started to come and buy our products. This
experience proved how we as ICS volunteers were able to overcome our limits,
fears and shyness to achieve our goal of selling these products like they were
baguettes of bread.
Même si les produits sont incapables de rivaliser avec ceux des européens en terme de production, du à leur fabrication artisanal. L’association bénéficiera surtout d’un partenariat gagnant-gagnant si toutefois un partenaire se portait garant pour l’appuyer dans l’extraction d’une plus grande quantité de l’huile de neem, surtout que le neem existe abondamment en Afrique et possède des vertus inimaginables. Il pourrait s’exporter facilement dans le monde, grâce une utilisation des moyens sophistiques et a une maitrise de la technique d’extraction qui réduirait au maximum le gaspillage de ressources et surtout d’énergie.
Despite the fact that these products may not be able to compete with
those made in Europe in regards to their production as they are made with an
artisanal technique. The association will benefit from a win-win partnership if
they can find a partner who can help extract the neem oil in larger quantities
especially since it exists in such large quantities and has many health
benefits. It is possible to easily export these products on a global level,
however, the association needs support in regards to improving their production
chain to prevent the waste of resources and especially energy.

produits ont été très appréciés par la communauté locale vu leurs efficacité. De
plus convaincus et intéressés beaucoup ont promis de s’en procurer plus tard. Lors
du market event, nous avons fait une très bonne recette, car nous avons vendu au-delà
de nos attentes. Cela s’explique s’en
doute par l’amélioration de la visibilité d’une part mais aussi de la
communication effectuée autour des biens faits des différents produits. Cette activité
étant un succès total, les volontaires ont reçu les félicitations des
responsables, félicitations qu’ils attribuent au programme ICS qui continuerait
à porter ses fruits si toutefois le programme continuait. Mais le plus important,
c’est la fierté que nous avons ressenti ce jour d’être des volontaires du
programme britannique. De plus il souhaiterait revivre l’événement en
organisant une autre séance de marketing la semaine suivante.
All of the products were well appreciated by the local community who saw
their usefulness. More people were convinced and interested too and said they
would consider buying our products at a later date. During the market event we
were able to make a good profit as we sold more than we were expecting. This is evidence of the effect of the
improvements we made to the visibility but also the effective communication of
the usefulness and benefits of the different products. This activity was in
total a grand success, the volunteers were congratulated by their team leaders
and AML staff for the good work they have done on the ICS program. But most of
all, we were proud being volunteers of a British program. Even more we hope to
repeat this event and organise another session of marketing the following week.
