Meet Cohort 3: Baas Neere!

Bonjour! Nous sommes l’équipe Baas Néere. Le nom de notre équipe signifie une bonne fin. Nous sommes au nombre de dix. Nous sommes à la troisième semaine. Nous avions fait une formation de trois jours avant notre placement. Nous avons maintenant commencé a planifier nos activités. Nous sommes tous impatients de commencer le travail et d’atteindre tous nos objectifs.

 Hello! We are team Baas Néere. Our team name means 'finish in peace and happiness' in the local language Moore. We are a team of ten and we are currently in the third week of our placement.  We have completed our three days of training and  have already began planning out activities together. As a team are excited to begin work and achieve our goals.

 

 

 

 

Charles

Salut! Je suis Charles. Je participe au projet d'ICS pour plusieurs raisons: je veux améliorer mon français, améliorer et pratiquer la production de vidéo et l’enseignement de l’anglais, je veux connaitre une autre culture, et je veux apprendre plus d’une partie du monde dont je ne sais rien. J’ai 24 ans, et j’habitais à Glasgow. Je suis responsable de l’enseignement de l’anglais, et la production des vidéos ici, mais j’attends avec plaisir d’essayer les autres choses en plus.

Hi! I'm Charles. I’m doing this project for a several reasons: I want to learn better French, I want to learn  practical skills like English teaching and video-making, I want to experience a different culture, and I want to become invested in a part of the world I know very little about. I’m 24, and I’ve been living in Glasgow. I’m responsible for English-teaching and video-making here, but I’m looking forward to trying my hand at as much as I can. 

 

 

Gaëlle

 

Je me nomme KABORE Wendyam Gaëlle Marie Elisabeth, j’ai 23ans je fais des études de droit je participe au programme ICS pour mon développement personnel  et pour mettre mes connaissances au profit de la communauté de loumbila. Je veux améliorer mon niveau en anglais et en informatique. Je suis responsable de la communication, des réseaux communautaires et du club de théâtre. Je suis enthousiaste et motivée à l’idée de travailler avec mon équipe.

My name is Wendyam Gaëlle Marie Elisabeth KABORE. I am 23 and I study law. I’m participating in the ICS program for my personal development and to use my experience to help the community of Loumbila. I’d also like to improve my English and IT skills. I am responsible for communication and for the theatre club. I am enthusiastic and motivated by the idea of working with my team.

  

 

Jean Baptiste
 

"Salut" Jeune, amusant, je réponds au nom de Yaméogo Jean-Baptiste, j'ai 24 ans. Je suis né en Côte d'Ivoire, rentré au Burkina Faso après avoir décroché le Bac dans le but de poursuivre mes études universitaires. J'ai postulé pour ce volontariat dans le but de mettre à profit mes acquis  dans le développement des communautés locales. Affecté au sein de l'Association Manegdbzanga, je suis chargé avec deux autres volontaires de l'administration des cours d'anglais et de la sensibilisation.

Hello! Young and fun, my name is Yameogo Jean Baptiste. I am 24 years old. I was born in the Ivory Coast. I moved to Burkina Faso and now my aim is to complete my university studies. I have applied to volunteer with ICS with the aim of sharing my knowledge and developing the local community. Whilst working with AML, my responsibilities include teaching English lessons and providing awareness raising, along with two other volunteers.

Salut! Mon nom est Joe et j'ai étudié sports réhabilitation et massage à l' université de Cardiff. Je voulais participer à ICS car c'est une opportunité unique dans la vie et un défi fantastique. Je suis très heureux de travailler avec la communauté locale pour essayer de faire une différence et je suis impatient de travailler avec mes compagnons volontaires.

 

 Salut! My name is Joe and I studied sports rehabilitation and massage at university in Cardiff. I wanted to participate in ICS as it is a once in a life time opportunity and a fantastic challenge. I am very excited to work with the local community and to try to make a difference. As part of my placement I will be doing awareness raising and developing my experience in marketing and packaging. I am looking forward to working with my fellow volunteers, baas neere.

 

 

Matthew   

Salut! Je suis Matthew Bond, j'ai 18 ans  je suis le plus jeune de l'équipe ! Je viens d'Ecosse et j'habite près de Glasgow. Avant ICS j'étudiais l'informatique.
J'ai postulé pour ICS dans le but de gagner l'expérience dans le développement international. A l'avenir j'espère travailler avec la Croix Rouge ou Médecins Sans Frontières. Mon travail avec AML comprend la formation en Informatique, la sensibilisation et les enquêtes. J'espère faire une différence pour la communauté locale pendant  le placement.

Hey, I'm Matthew Bond, I'm 18 years old making me the youngest member of the team. I'm From Scotland and live just outside Glasgow. Before coming here I was a first year Computer Networking student.  I applied to volunteer with ICS with the aim of gaining valuable experience in international development and hopefully work for the Red Cross or MSF in the future. Working with AML my role includes helping teach the IT classes, completing awareness raising and conducting surveys. I hope by the end of my placement I will have helped make a real difference in the local community.

Salut, mon nom est Mouniratou Bambara et j’ai 23 ans. Je suis originaire du Burkina Faso et j’étudie l’économie à l’université. Je suis chargée de donner des leçons en informatique, de faire des sensibilisations sur la santé sexuelle et des enquêtes au sein de AML. J’ai postulé au programme ICS dans le but d’améliorer mes capacités et aussi de contribuer au développement communautaire. J’espère a la fin de mon placement impacter positivement la vie des personnes à Loumbila.

Hello! My name is Mouniratou Bambara and I’m 23 years old. I come from Burkina Faso and I study economics at university. I am responsible for giving lessons in IT, for giving awareness-raising sessions in sexual health, and for carrying out surveys for AML. I applied for the ICS program in order to improve my skills and also to contribute to community development. I hope to positively impact the lives of people in Loumbila by the end of my placement.

Bonjour. Je m'appelle Rachel. Je suis diplômée de l'université de Manchester où j'ai étudié l'humanitarisme. J'ai décidé d'être volontaire avec ICS et International Service au Burkina Faso en particulier parce que je veux apprendre de la culture locale et visiter un nouveau pays.  J'espère travailler dans le secteur humanitaire à l'avenir.

Pendant le placement je suis en charge de la communication, les réseaux communautaires et le club de théâtre. J'espère qu'on pourra aider AML et son staff à renforcer ses compétences et continuer  leur bon travail.

Bonjour! My name is Rachel. I graduated a few months ago from my MA degree in humanitarianism and conflict response. I decided to volunteer with ICS and in particular International service in Burkina Faso, as I wanted to learn more about the local culture and travel to a part of the world I'd never been to before. I am hoping to work in the humanitarian sector in the future.

Throughout my placement with AML I am helping with communications, community networks and the theatre club. I hope that we are able to help AML and it's staff to build upon their skills so they can continue their great work.

Salut mon nom c’est Rachel Zorma et j’ai 24 ans. Je suis originaire du Burkina Faso et je poursuis ma formation en communication marketing et gestion. J’ai décidé de participer au programme ICS dans le but d’apporter mon soutien aux personnes vulnérables, d’améliorer autant que possible mon niveau en anglais. Dans ce programme je suis chargée des cours d’anglais, marketing et des montages de vidéos.  

Hello! My is Rachel Zorma and I‘m 24 years old. I come from Burkina Faso and I study communication, marketing and management at University. I decided to participate in the ICS programme to support vulnerable people and to improve my English as much as possible. On this programme I’m responsible for the English course, the marketing and the video editing.

Salut! Je suis Dramane Ko, Ancien volontaire et actuellement chef d'équipe à l'Association Manegdbzanga. C'est ma deuxième cohorte. Je suis très heureux dans le programme. Ça me permet de me développer en aidant les autres. J'apprends énormément et je peux voir le changement que nous sommes en train d'apporter dans la communauté.

Hi. I am Dramane Ko. Former volunteer and currently the In-country Team Leader at Association Manegdbzanga. This is my second cohort and I am really happy within this programme. It allows me to develop myself while helping others. I am learning a lot and I can see the change we are bringing in the community.

 

Hannah

 

Je m'appelle Hannah, je suis le chef d'équipe Britannique. En Angleterre, je travaille en tant que sage-femme. J'espère que mon travail avec International Service va me donner les compétences pour travailler dans différents pays. 

C'est la deuxième fois que je travaille avec Association Manegdbzanga, et je sais que cette équipe va atteindre les grandes choses comme la dernière.

My name is Hannah, I'm the UK team leader. In the UK I work as a midwife. I hope that working with International Service will give me the skills I need to practice midwifery abroad.

This is my second cohort at Association Manegdbzanga; I'm sure they this team will do great work and be just as successful as the last.
