La cohorte 24 de l’association manegdzanga de loumbilla dans son programme
de planification a décidé d’organiser des séances de sensibilisations à la
demande de la communauté, pour cela des thèmes sensibles ont été abordés tels
que : L’HYGIENE, LA NUTRITION ET L’INCIVISME. Les thèmes comme la
nutrition et l’hygiène ont été abordés dans cinq écoles primaires. La
principale difficulté auquel nous avions fait face était la langue, en effet
les élèves ne parlaient que le MOORE
jusqu’à la classe de CE2 ou le français est introduit. Il fallait souvent
traduire de l’anglais au français et du français au Moore.
Cohort 24 working with
Association Manegbzanga of Loumbila has adapted its program to organise
awareness raising sessions with the community concerning the important themes
of hygiene, nutrition with five local primary schools. The main challenges we
faced with this activity was the language barrier as most of the children could
only understand Mooré while only four of our team could speak Mooré.
We had to translate a lot between English, French and Mooré
throughout the sessions.
La séance étaient très participatives, on leurs a particulièrement appris
pour l’hygiène comment se laver correctement les mains avec du savon, comment
faire sa toilette, se brosser les dents garder notre environnement et soi-même
propre. Pour initier le mode de propagation des microbes nous avions pratiqué
une activité réaliser par les élèves eux même afin de tester leurs niveaux de
compréhension.
The pupils were very interested
by ours sessions. We mainly taught them the important aspects of hygiene such
as how to wash their hands properly and also their body, how to brush their
teeth, keep their environment and also themselves clean. We highlighted the
importance of protecting oneself from germs and the spread of harmful bacteria.
At the end we organized an activity with children to test their level of
understanding.

Pour initier le fait que le savon aide à éliminer les germes et les
microbes: nous avions mis de l’huile dans de l’eau dans une assiette, nous
avions demandé à un des volontaires de se frotter les mains au
savon, puis de laisser tomber quelques goutte de savon dans l’assiette, nous constatons
que huile se replie au bord de l’assiette et la leçon retenue était quand se
lavant les mains ou le corps avec du savon, ils évitaient non seulement de
rester sales mais aussi de propager les microbes. Cette activité a permis aux
enfants de mieux comprendre pourquoi il est vraiment nécessaire de se laver les
mains au savon comme nous ont promis les élèves, le message sera transmis à
leurs familles et à leur entourage. Pour nous volontaire cette sensibilisation
nous a permis d’améliorer notre capacité de planification mais aussi notre
capacité à transmettre le message.
To teach them how soap keeps
repel germs and harmful bacteria, we ran an activity. We put some oil in water
and then we asked one of the classroom volunteers to put soap on their fingers
put it in the water. Once doing that they were able to see the soap pushing the
oil away. The lesson after this activity is to show to pupils how soap can keep
their hands and also their body clean by repelling germs. All of the pupils said they would share the
message with their families and their neighborhood. For us this awareness
raising session allowed us to increase our planning skills as well as our
capacity to share our message effectively.
Quant à la nutrition nous avons appris aux enfants comment s’alimenter, en
leurs détaillant les composés de chaque aliment et en leur montrant
l’effet que cela fait une fois dans l’organisme. Puis pour terminer nous avions
planifié une activité qui leur fait mieux comprendre comment le système
humanitaire réagit une fois attaqué par des germes ou des microbes. Le nombre
d’élèves atteint était de 556 élèves.
L’impact de ses différentes sensibilisation sur les enfants étaient très grande,
les élèves ont beaucoup appris sur la nutrition et sur l’hygiène ils s’engagent
à mettre en pratique leurs connaissances dans leur vie quotidienne : comme
le témoigne le host Brother d’un des volontaires, je laverai toujours mes mains
au savon avant chaque repas pour ne pas tomber malade.

We then did an awareness raising
session on nutrition with the class in an effort to teach them how to have a
healthy diet. We discussed the different food groups and how they affect the
body. In conclusion of this lesson we did an activity with the children to help
them understand the immune system and how it protects the body from germs and
bad bacteria. We believe these sessions had a big impact on the children as
they were able to learn a lot about hygiene and nutrition as well as put this
knowledge into practice in their daily life. One of the host brothers of our
volunteers who participated in the session as a student. He said that he now always washes
his hands properly with soap before each meal so that he would not get
ill.
Nous avions aussi eu à faire des sensibilisations dans les collègues sur le
thème de l’incivisme. Nous n’avions pas raconté de difficultés
particulières, les séances étaient participatifs ils étaient pleinement
disponibles, enthousiastes. Nous avions procédé par une projection de
films sur l’insurrection populaire puis nous avions essayé de discuter avec les
élèves sur le film. Nous avions entamé la séance de sensibilisation à proprement
dit puis pour terminer nous les avions divisé en deux groupe puis
nous avions essayé de leur faire débattre sur un thème :
comment devriez-vous réclamer vos droits ? Par la protestation ou
par le dialogue ?
We also did awareness raising
sessions in local high schools on the theme of active citizenship. We did not
encounter many difficulties with the students as they were available and
enthusiastic in their participation. We proceeded to project a short film on the
popular revolution of 2014 and discussed with the students what they thought
about the film and how it related to active citizenship and anti-social
behavior. In conclusion we divided the class into two groups and taught them
how to do a debate with each group defending their arguments. The theme of this
debate was how should we defend our human rights? Through protest or through dialogue?

Après le débat les élèves ont beaucoup appris sur le respect d’autrui, sur
la liberté d’expression, le respect des opinions. Comme il l’on tous attester à
la fin de la sensibilisation, nous savons maintenant comment défendre nos
idées réclamer nos droits ou protester dans le respect des règles et d’autrui.
Par contre dans un des lycées nous nous sommes heurtés à la non disponibilité des élèves, on a dû aller
les chercher dans la cours de l’école pour pouvoir les sensibiliser. Dans
une des ecoles nous avions pas eu assez d’eleves,dans une des école nous avions fai face a la non dispoibilité des élèves parce qu'ils était occupés a preparer leurs examens. nous vous ferons part de nos prochaines activités dans les publiations a venir merci
After the debate, the students
had learnt a lot about active citizenship concerning how to respect each other
and those they disagree with, what does it mean to have the freedom of
expression. As they all stayed until the end of the session, they now all know
how to defend their ideas and their rights or to protest while respecting the
rights of everyone. In one of the high schools we faced the challenge of
finding enough children to participate in the awareness raising sessions as
many of them were writing their exams and it was almost the end of the school
term. we will share ou future activities in ous future publication.
